Not to Get all Drippy on You...

But I'm really glad you're all along for the ride--here at "Rituals" and at all the other online gathering places where we can each speak our truth and find our way forward. Please don't discriminate; visit all these places, and often. Isn't it fucking wonderful to finally be able to say what we feel and--equally importantly--what we don't feel, with complete freedom?

Um, i want to say that I am not so "serious" as i may appear. MC, you know that right? I have been the instigator of some of the more absurd lines of "discourse" on other boards...without a sense of humor, we are dooooomed.

yes yes yes to unleashing our senses of humor and the occasional anglo-saxon vulgarity! (how many times at SMA did you just want to let loose with a good "FUCK!")

LOLAL at the blog and the comments! I know I let loose with the F bomb more than once at the ashram. Oops another mark in the SY black book. Actually those behaviors and a refusal to outfit myself "yuppie" style probably saved me from getting drawn into sevas where I would have had to either knuckle under or make the choice of cutting bait then and there.

Yeah, we really do need a good sense of humor and a good sense of the absurd as well to traverse the spiritual path.

Yeah, ya really got me goin' ...

Peace and Love to all

My answers would be: it doesn't seem at all unkind to me, and this is the way that person is right now. She should have the absolute freedom to post that and exchange her viewpoint with like-minded others. Where was this originally posted? If it wasn't on this blog (haven't checked all my comments pages) I'd like to take it down. Is it kind to quote someone who is being honest about how they feel and hold them up as a negative example in a forum they aren't participating in? That is not a rhetorical question, I'd really like the groups' opinion. Because this blog allows unmoderated posting doesn't mean that anything that seems off topic or unkind can't be removed. Not sure if this comment fits the latter or not.

Seekher,

It isn't the speaker who is referred to as unkind, but I believe it is they who are being treated unkindly. The 'unkindness' is the path itself. What is it doing for this person?

You are correct. It should be removed. Apologies all round. My heart goes out to them. Thanks for showing me I was out of line.

Than you, MC. I really appreciate that you responded quickly and with integrity, asking that the post be taken down. This is the way I'd like for this blog to be "moderated", by people acting in accordance with their better instincts when it's pointed out to them that something they've written is unkind. Hell, I've let loose at times here, especially when answering comments on my posts that I think are daft or judgmental or preachy. We all get our Irish up about SY from time to time. I think it's healthy, for the most part, except if it hurts others.
Again, thank you.

Thank you Seekher

NY Times Public Editor last Sunday had an item on how NYT moderates their new comment section. Just beginning to get going. They hired 8 people to do it. This when the NYTimes is totally broke. Even Jody at Guruphiliac is moderated.

BTW How did you know I was Irish?
Is it that obvious? ;-)

Just an educated guess based on your traumatic Catholic childhood!

Thanks for the blast from the past in the wayback machine and that great Zombie's song and video.
I'm into The Doors again currently.

In my Correspondence Course I remember reading about a prostitute named Kamapatra who was also a Siddha. She saw god in everything while earning her profession.

I find there is love out of the hall as well as in the hall. Except those out of the hall are not bossing me around or have major spiritual pride problems.
